Return Policy:

Conditions for returning merchandise:
1. You have the original cash register receipt.
2. The merchandise is in new condition, in its original packaging, and ready to resell.
3. No more than ninety days have passed since the date on your cash register receipt.

Once a return has been accepted by The Door, you will receive either a refund in the same form your payment was made, or store credit.

If you receive store credit and choose not to use the credit on the same day, you will receive a gift certificate. This gift certificate is required when you choose to exercise the credit. If the certificate is lost, there is no recourse. We do not keep records of unused store credits.

Returns: Special Situations:

Sale Merchandise:
Merchandise sold from the Closeout/Sale shelves is sold on an as-is/no-return basis. It is not returnable under any circumstances.

Defective CD's, Cassettes, VHS, DVD, Software:

The Door will exchange any defective product for a new item of the same title when you have your original receipt, and not more than 15 days have passed since the purchase.

We do not give cash refunds or exchanges for a different title. If we are out-of-stock on the defective title, we will be happy to order a replacement for you.

Special Order Jewelry:
Jewelry that is special ordered for you is not returnable. It is made-to-order and our supplier will not accept returns.

Gift Certificates:
Gift Certificates are returnable only by the original purchase and with a cash register receipt.

Special Orders Policy:


The staff of The Door is happy to serve you by ordering merchandise from sources outside the store.
We ask that you pay for the merchandise at the time that you place the order.

You may cancel your special order at any time. We will refund your payment, minus a service charge of $2.00 or 10% of the price of the merchandise, whichever is larger. This service charge covers a portion of The Door's cost to return the merchandise.

When an order is placed, your cash register receipt and our special order form will be marked "Paid". The cash register receipt is your dated proof of payment.

The Door will make every reasonable effort to fill your special order. We will keep you informed of any difficulties we encounter, and we will notify you as soon as your order is received.

If we are unable to fill your order because the product is not available or if we are unable to obtain it within time limits you give us when you place the order, we will refund your payment in full.
